Instituts de recherche sur l'enseignement des mathématiques are Research Institute in French universities. They focus on the teaching of mathematics. The aims of these institute are the following :
- Produce research centered on perspective and specific problems that appear at every stage of the formation of students
- Train teachers on the basis of fundamental and applied research
- Produce and dissiminate educational supports of any type.
